Jacqy duVal does not suggest a landscape or a recognisable scene. The work varies in its expression and allows the viewer to experience it differently each time.

The geometric patterns refer to a visual language that is familiar to us from nature, from the structure of cells to that of crystals, and thus illustrate universal principles. The rhythmically ordered shapes suggest that the pattern repeats itself beyond the canvas, creating the illusion of an infinitely large space.

What seems simple and abstract at first glance, unravels when one delves into the canvas.
